Hello,
our sunroof has worked fine since we got the Bongo a year ago. Last week, with the sun out of hibernation, had it open daily whilst camping at Llanberis touring site (excellent 5 star site). On returning home, decided to make a magnetic flyscreen, mainly to stop tree blossom constantly floating in. The sunroof opens half way then struggles any further, I have to help it to fully open. It closes normally, been an instant problem rather than a gradual failure. Is there an easy way to clean/lube the rails or does the roof lining have to come out?
Many thanks.
David.

Hi,
dont think so, interestingly enough, its parked on a slight rear incline, put it on level ground and it performed much better. Managed to get some wd40 on the tracks nearer the back, I'll see how it goes, dont fancy taking roof lining out unless really nesessary.
Its going for a service/Mot next week so i'll ask Mike at WheelQuick best plan of attack.
Thanks,
David.

Sounds like a good plan - the Mikes know their stuff. Keep us posted.Gefail wrote:Hi,

Re: Tintop Sunroof
Visited Mike at Wheel Quick today, had blowing exhaust replaced, full service and MOT,,,,,no advisories.
The return trip home was alot quieter and mpg much improved with the wallet lightening
The sunroof has improved with the penetration of WD40 to the hidden rails. Will try some silicon spray next day off.
