Head unit removal

Post by bonetti » Mon May 23, 2016 7:28 pm

Hi,
My bongo has a Japanese fitted head unit - the type with a CD/Mini disc player and Navi/TV FM/AM.

Does anybody know how to remove it? I want to fit a "band expander".

Regards,
:) :)

can you not get at the wires from the side panels at the side of your left knee whilst driving, and one at the right knee one the passy side. they have a single pop button fastener and are usually grey and roughly triangular in shape, pull these off and get behind the head unit. may help a bit to lift out the passy side garbage hatch, sorry glove box storage bin.

Oh, probably.. I've only had the van 2 days and not even had a chance to give it a good look over. I will pop out now and have a look.

Thank you for replying. :)

Do you really want to fit a Band Expander ??? They are a very cheap solution agreed, but they are pretty pathetic in performance, its not normally long before people replace the headunit for a European radio because of they way they work!

Hi - I was going to replace the unit until I discovered it is acting as a monitor for a rear view camera.
