Fuel in the UK is good quality so if you go abroad a lot then it may need replacing more often.

Thanks for the time replying. I cannot help but feel that it seems there is no actual suggested service interval then. No veg oil here. 31,000 miles and every year. Hmm quite a difference.
I do circa 3,500 miles a year. I take it on both accounts, that the 2 years mine has been on it won't need changing yet. I will get it done in a couple of years time. (I never have any starting issues at all since I loosened the diesel cap off a tad and the Bongo always runs sweet)

The actual Mazda service interval of the fuel filter is 50,000 Km's.
As with any fuel filter, if you use non-standard fuel in it then you may need to replace sooner. The 'how sooner' is the bit that cananot be specified as there are too many if's and but's.
