Go outside have changed their leisure battery clarification

Last year's battery is now classed as a "C" category battery.
70 cycles. With only light occasional use.
Price the same around £70
(Which gives some insight into why the battery is struggling after 1 year)

Their "B" battery is £130

With their "A" battery
Over £200

At least their being more honest and clear this year now the "A" "B" "C" ratings are being supported by manufacturers

That's going to be a problem with people using Solar Panels if they don't understand the ratings and the likely number of cycles :-( Its very easy to make more and more use of the LB when you have a solar panel keeping it charged, but every night/day could easily end up being a 20-80% charge cycle hence a "C" rated battery will be killed within a Summer season alone if its well used. ....

Well...yes, that's about right... :lol: :lol: ...I used to have a great source of leisure batteries in the UK....unbelievable price...They'd last about 18 months, but at the price they worked out VERY cheap!

We have one of the enduraline battery's from Tanya . Been on for a couple of years now and still good. We do have a solar panel on dash of bongo which works very well for topping up and keeping fridge going. Before the enduraline we had an elecsol battery which I think was a lot better battery would run for a lot longer, would get another when this one dies if you could still get them.

Are these A B C ratings new?
Never even thought about number of charge cycles being significant #-o . I suppose, before I caught Bongoitis, my only experience of LBs was with a trailer tent - couple of charges each summer hol and a charge per weekend outing = 10-15 charges/ year! LB lasted yonks.

Presumably if a Bongo is used as a commuting/shopping vehicle, each day does not count as a charge cycle unless the LB has a significant drain overnight. However a touring holiday will "cost" a charge cycle per day.

Starting to think of the LB as a consumable item :shock:

Its the

National Caravan Council, which are the trade body for campervans and other leisure vehicles

It was started last year - but seems to be this year the batterys are being identifed with the codes.
