HELP: Best insurance price for Rav4 2005 3 door
Can anyone help. My partner has 14 years no claims but is being quoted £1100 to renew with Sheilas Wheels. Clearly that is a daft quote for a mature lady with such a good record. She also probably only does 3k miles a year if that. I'm wondering if brokers like ones we use might be worth trying, and i've passed her that thought, but if anyones has any experience here we'd be grateful for thoughts.
Thanks as ever.

Crikey Mike, that does sound a lot.
Has Trish tries the comparison sites?

No doubt she will but given their mainstream tendencies i'm wondering if the best prices might be lurking amongst the niche market brokers. I've encouraged her to do some googling to see what the chat might be on Rav forums etc.Bob wrote:Crikey Mike, that does sound a lot.

Good thought, Adrian Flux can be good.

Funny you should say that - I've already suggested she try 2gether, Lifesure, and Adrian Flux, also that she should look for limited mileage policiesBob wrote:Good thought, Adrian Flux can be good.

Joining an Owner's Club can help, too.

That sounds a high quote, has she queried the reason for it being so high. I went on a comparison site and Sheila's Wheels (same company as esure) quoted £238 for 2010 Rav4 Automatic, 68 year old male, 8 years NCD, 5000 miles/year, parked on drive at night, town in West Yorkshire.mikeonb4c wrote:Can anyone help. Never run out of road, traction and ideas at the same time.

That sounds far too much.
I've never had any luck with the insurers like Adrian Flux etc, they always want a small fortune. The last quote I got was about 5x as much.
I change between mainstream providers for the other car. We currently pay £189 Fully Comp for the Bongo and about £270 Fully Comp for our Mondeo (59 plate 2.0L Petrol). (I'm 33 wife is 31)
Each the renewal comes through at twice the price but we always seem to get it back down below £300 either with the same company or by moving.
Currently with Aviva.
It usually comes down to a Saturday afternoon spent trying each one. I tend to also use Quidco for cashback - have often got things like £60 cashback in the past too. I don't use the comparison sites as basically they get the cashback instead!

Thanks Tessie and Sotal - I'll pass that back to her as someone is definitely taking the proverbial
