Post by tophatter » Thu Feb 01, 2007 10:31 pm

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the tailgate, when the tailgate is shut one side is flush and the other is slightly proud. Thanks

Wow thats weird! I know you can adjust for overall looseness when shut by undoing the bolts of the lock catch on the boot floor, adjusting the lock catch and re-tightening. Might improve things though not really a proper answer. Makes you wonder if the vehicle is out of true for some reason :? :?

Bit dark to look now, but is there any adjustment on the hinges? If not, I suspect your tailgate is somehow bent.

Open it and give it a tweak on the hinges by twisting in the opposite direction from the bottom. Common bodyshop practice - just watch you don't tweak too far and the window pops out

Just don't put the chicken in the rear of the Bongo and expect it to come out cooked.
