Re: engine noise
Ho hum. Is it a diesel? Apart from anything diesely, maybe stuff like belts, failing crankshaft pulley, waterpump could be possible culprits. You could buy a cheap engine stethoscope off ebay and try going after the source of the noise.osmosis1st wrote:hi! my engine makes a rattling noise on start up that goes away once warm and runs just fine! Hi ! Yes sorry its a diesel !!! I'm no mechanic but have driven older diesels in the past and know they can rattle a bit on start up ! Its due a service at Ian Taylors early next month ! Just wondered if its a common thing with bongos ? Cheers for quick response !!!!!
Re: engine noise
It sounds like it could be balance shaft/s. Oil starvation/pressure/water in oil ,but I am sure that Ian Taylor will sort it for you.
PS it would probably be advisable to leave the vehicle with the garage overnight if possible to ensure "Cold Start".
Good Luck.
