MOT certificate

Post by Becky&stu » Tue Nov 24, 2015 2:47 pm

Hi all,

My Bongo has recently had it's MOT. I was looking through the info and it has some of the years in miles and some in KMs. Now I think it has just had the dial replacement so the 'mileage' should still be correct in KM. should I get the certificate changed (not much I can do about previous years) or does it just not matter?

Thanks all
Becky

dial will allways be in km

but you have to tell mot itd that or they will assume miles

Yes
it can be corrected.
Go to your MOT station If its less than a week they may be able to change it or ask for it to be changed.
Recently I checked the date and odometer reading and they were wrong. I got an e-mail address for the (whatever they are called now) out of my MOT station.
Emailed them with V5 details and number (as much info as you can muster inc MOT station and cert number .
4 days later a call from MOT station come and collect copies with corrected info.

The km reading is important since your insurance company has access to this info and may cause grief if you have a mileage limit.

My last certificate didn't state miles or Km as they have done in previous years so it's whatever you want it to be. Unless you tell them otherwise, they will naturally assume it's miles anyway.
