Not really Bongo related but this Forum is always a good source of knowledge. M old PC with Windows 7 has bitten the dust, overheating among other problems. I blithely bought another one with windows 10 and I am struggling. Made a mess of setting it up and finally got the emails set up with help.
I have an old version of Office on the new one and need to transfer Excel and Word files. Normally use a memory stick, but cannot find out how to access the correct drive on the W10 PC. I would also like to move across my collection of photos. Downloaded stuff from my phone and cannot upload it. Feeling desperately incompetent. Did manage to sort out the disappearing cursor but getting nowhere otherwise.
Can anyone offer advice?

Re: Transfering Data from Windows 7 PC to Windows 10 on new
When you plug in the memory stick into the new pc does a black box appear in the bottom right asking you what action to take with this device? If it does then click on the box and it gives you options including opening the folders on the memory stick. Simiarly with your phone, if you connect by usb a little black box should appear from which you can either import the photos or open folders on the phone.
Alternatively, with either device plugged in click the windows button to open the start menu and click on file explorer then 'this pc' or just cick on 'this pc' if it's in the start menu. Under 'this pc' you should be able to see all drives on the computer
