ABS Fault Code 11

Post by Bluespanner » Wed Oct 07, 2015 6:02 am

I have the ABS light staying on problem. Have followed the excellent info on the forum posts and nailed it down to fault code 11. Right hand side sensor or rotor fault. My question as dumb as it may sound. Which is the Right Hand Side ??? Looking at the Vehicle from the front or from the Drivers perspective. In other words is fault code 11 a drivers side or passenger side fault.. Thanks in advance

Right hand side = driver side = offside
Left hand side = passenger side = near side

You've also then got to figure out if it's front or rear as all 4 corners have ABS sensors.

I'm going on the info from a previous post by the1andonly from Nov 2012 ? If correct ABS Fault Code 11 is Front Right Sensor or Rotor, so hopefully I've cut the odds down considerably of isolating the fault. I'm going try to find the sensor connector under the bonnet next and do a multimeter check on the resisitance to see if it's within spec or it's a fat zero. Zero I think would mean a break in the cable somewhere downstream. My fear is that the sensor was damaged in the past as I think I had a caliper seize on that wheel last year, It heated right up before I noticed the smell and pulled over.
