leisure battery

Post by tobren » Mon Aug 17, 2015 11:31 am

My leisure battery is not being charged. I have bought a new leisure battery thinking the old battery was the problem but the same thing has happened. has anyone got any ideas about the most likely reason

cheers

The first thing to check is the fuses between the LB and SB.

There also should be TWO fuses one close to each battery, if one blows change both as the second one will be damaged!

You should have what is known as a split charge system. This will charge the LB once the alternator is charging the SB. It is possible that the split charge CCT/unit has a fault. You will need to get a multi meter out to do some basic checking of voltages to track down where the fault lies. If you don't have experience of this type of fault finding there are plenty of members that will offer help if you need it. Otherwise you need help from an auto electrician. However to fault find on the split charge system isn't beyond someone with good basic knowledge if given pointers.
You don't say where you are, you may have a member near by that could help if required.
