Post by javednazeer » Sat Jan 27, 2007 10:41 pm

I have noticed the rear wheels have rear disc brakes instead of drums, is this usual, thank you.

Yep javednazeer, that is normal on the Bongo. Discs all round. There are also brake drums on the rear axle and these are for the parking brake only as I understand it. Hope this helps and Happy Bongoing.

It looks pretty poor performance thinking it has discs all round. Any diagnosis as brake feels spongy a bit. Thanks.

Poor performance compared to what? - remember that you are stopping nearly 2 tons of metal.
Spongy brakes usually mean air in the system, so they may need bleeding.

The brakes on mine are stunningly good by any standards. Must be something up there javednazeer - I'd get them checked. Have you got any Bongo friendly garages or Bongo owners near you who can check and comment on your brakes?
