HELP! Fellow Bongonauts can you help???

Post by TonyW » Mon Jul 27, 2015 7:24 am

Hi all,

We were on day 1 of a Euro road trip and in southern Belgium, near Luxembourg at the top of steep hill, and the radiator blew!

There's myself, my wife and our three teenage daughters.

Thankfully my RAC cover got us relayed to a local garage in Han-sur-Lesse where we've stayed in a hotel overnight. Hire car should arrive today.

However, the problem is that the RAC will need to transfer our poorly 1995 2WD diesel Bongo to a service centre which can do the repair. Looks like a new radiator may be needed.

Here's the ASK .... does anyone know a Bongo friendly garage in this area AND does anyone know about parts in this area too?

I feel a BIG bill coming on but I'm hoping the Bongofury community may be able to help myself and my family ..... no, not with the cost ;) ..... with the above knowledge.

Thanks in advance.

Tony, Jacqui and the girls.

Ian will be able to get a new rad couriered out to you PDQ, fitting is routine but you need to make the garage understand the importance of the bleeding procedure.

Alternatively a local Mazda dealer should be able to get you the rad. Assuming yours is an auto the rad is WL0215200D and whenever I order from my local Mazda main dealer the parts come from their European hub which is conveniently in Belgium, in Willebroek.

But before you or they order any parts, do a thorough check to confirm that it is the rad you need and/or any other bits.

Oh dear, sorry to hear of your troubles.

Ian can ship parts from the Bongo Shop very quickly via Fedex.

Worth asking.

Thanks all.

With my dodgy CSE grade 2 French and Google translate, we're getting there.

Ian is sorting me a price to deliver the new radiator.

Fingers crossed ;)

If you go into the Members Area then there is a French version of how to replace the radiator. Never looked at it myself so do not know if it will help.

The instructions have been enclosed with the radiator and it will be picked up by Fedex this afternoon for next day delivery.

All ... and especially Ian ... we now have the radiator on it's way.

The Mazda service centre are ready to receive and fit and, thanks to our RAC cover, we are in an estate hire car and have arrived with our family in Luxembourg.

Again, thanks to those who helped and advised .... another fantastic response our fellow Bongo owners.

Tony.
