Passenger Window Switch

Re: Passenger Window Switch
Well I'm nearly there now!
Dismantled the Drivers side switch in a tub as suggested above - one spring and one ball bearing popped out.
Inspected the board, most of it looked fine - the worst part was the bit where the disable switch pushes in. It was full of green fuzziness over the contacts. I shorted the board on the underside between the two solder points and suddenly both switches worked perfectly. I have cleaned the contacts up now to remove the green and clicked it back together and it all works nicely again.
The only thing left now is the spring and ball bearing! The tip given above worked perfectly so I didn't lose them - but I have no idea how they go back in! I presume they are for the disable switch as it feels a bit different now (still works).
Any clues on how they go back in?!
Thanks again for all the help!

Re: Passenger Window Switch
That's good, you get moisture coming in the drivers window and that causes a lot of the problems!
Never had to take one apart myself so far but several people have so I suspect they will be along shortly!

Sorted it - for future reference...g8dhe wrote:That's good, you get moisture coming in the drivers window and that causes a lot of the problems!

When the switch is apart you carefully prise the disable switch out using a screwdriver, and pull it off the white part too.
You then load the spring in to the hole in the white part and start to put it into the socket, just before it goes in, push the ball into the spring and push the lot in together, put everything back together and the finally click the disable swith onto the white part and then on to the main body.
All done and all working, both windows operate quicker now and the drivers one works every time now - no having to press it twice.
Now got to get back to finishing off the alarm installation!
Thanks again for the assistance!

Re: Passenger Window Switch
Just a quick thanks for this post - I've just repaired my broken switch, a simple case of applying some epoxy glue to a broken switch lever - a welcome saving.

Mine has continued to work perfectly since.

Hi - this is the first time i've posted on here so not sure if I'm in the right spot!
I'm a new Bongo owner and my passenger window switch isn't working - will the Mazda 323f passenger switch work as a replacement - they seem quite abit cheaper
I've got a 1996 Bongo
Thanks!

Re: Passenger Window Switch
I have a passenger switch if you are interested. PM me!
Re: Passenger Window Switch
Have you tested the switch to make sure it has failed ? There are several other conditions that could seem like a faulty switch!
