Manually operating electric blinds

Post by sotal » Sat Jul 11, 2015 11:48 am

I was going to switch my electric blinds over from the SB to the LB (It was quite a pain to lean over to put the keys in to move them up and down - especially as we put the child seat on the drivers seat out of the way! - however I was just reading that people operate them by hand by just pulling them down and pushing them up again.

Is this recommended? Are you likely to damage them doing this? I may go with this as an easier option instead!

Lots of people do this, including me. I've not heard of a problem... yet. :)
Allans Garage retired. Try PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services Plymouth

You do lose the Star Trek factor though.

Agree, this is fine.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

Thanks for all the replies.

It does sound like it should be fine, but I have now moved the blinds over to the LB so will save manual movements for emergencies only!

Sensible decision. Being able to hide bongo contents by pressing two switches from the drivers seat before nipping to the shops is very handy I find.
