Sliding door stopped working on central locking
Hi all. My sliding door latch got a bit intermittent and now doesn't work on the central locking. Sometimes it moves a little bit but doesn't go far enough to operate. I read someone's post on this same topic a little while back but now I can't find it again. I've removed the door panel and plastic to take a look and given it some strategically squirted WD40 but no change. Anyone got any idea what the fault may be and how I can fix it please?

Re: Sliding door stopped working on central locking
The 5 connections on the pillar and door control the closing and locking functions.
The 3 sprung connections handle the door closing, as they make connection first.
The 2 remaining connections are for the central locking, they only make contact after the door closing action has started.
It might be worth checking the state of all the connections and giving them a clean, but do be careful as there is 12 volt power on the connections so use a plastic kitchen pad or similar to clean the connections!

Re: Sliding door stopped working on central locking
Thanks Geoff.
I've cleaned them to no avail, but I will check connections on the back of them next.
Any idea if the microswitch to the top right inside the door and to the left of the handle is anything to do with the latch?
Cheers,
Geoff

Yes there all associated with the closing of the sliding door, the wiring diagrams have all the circuits for those modules as well, sounds like there may be a problem with the closing door mechanism there are very few if any common faults with the electronic modules.

Re: Sliding door stopped working on central locking
Well the door operates fine. The auto close is all good and the latch/button for locking from inside works from the key - just not from central locking. So if it's a mechanical problem, I think it would have to be the linkage to the latch/button, but that seems OK when I operate it manually.

OK well can only suggest that the locking motor isn't happy for some reason, maybe watch it from the inside and see what is happening when they locking is operated.
