2.0 l petrol 2004 Bongo question

Post by smully » Mon Jun 29, 2015 9:18 am

Morning all. Picking up my new Bongo tomorrow and just getting some quotes on insurance.
Does anyone know whether my model has factory fitted immobilizer?
It has remote central locking from the key fob but the dealer is unsure whether there is any form of immobilizer?

Cheers in advance.

Hi smully, I am sure that if the Dealer has a close examination/inspection/test of the vehicle they would be able to confirm whether or not it has one.

I thought so too, but he's unsure whether the factory fitted remote locking also incorporates an immobilizer as well.
My insurance company is asking whether it's got anything fitted as standard but I'm struggling to find out whether Mazda fitted an immobilizer at the factory?

Sit in Bongo, set alarm, try and start engine.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

As far a I know, there was never an immobiliser option offered. They're a very trustworthy lot in Japan :)
