Might have to get the 12v tester out and see how far down the line the power is getting
Put tester onto starter and see if it's getting power and at what volts

Is it diesel or petrol? Does it do this when you get back in it like if you stop at a shop?

get a multi meter set on volts, put black to a good earth and the red to the small terminal on the starter solenoid on the side of the starter motor, the trigger wire. if you have no voltage when key is turned its the switch /wiring side of things, if you have voltage it could be starter motor solenoid or earth to body from the engine.

Maybe the starter solenoid contacts .. easy cheap (eBay) job .. plenty of uTube tutorials on how to change them ..
Next time it happens .. give the starter motor a 'smack' while turning the ignition key ..

Any good mechanic can work on them
Just make sure they don't work on the coolant system with out knowing how to bleed them and the importance of bleeding.
Vids on bleeding on you tube
Starter motor repair kits are available
But check where the power is getting to before buying stuff
