power steering top up
95 td power steering bottle under drivers seat what is best to top up with . mine is just above minimum . thanks for help

Normal Dexron3 auto transmission fluid ..

I recently changed my steering fluid - it was black. Dexron 3 is red.
Also, the wind blew the open container over with the used fluid in it and has really stained the driveway. I thought oil stained but this has nothing on that. Can't get rid of the stain. Be warned.

In reply to a recent PM .. Just so you know where it is ..

Remember .. the auto box is checked when warm .. with the engine running ..
Handbrake & foot brake on .. move the lever from 'L' to 'P' several times ..
Leave the handbrake on & lever in 'P'ark .. and the engine running ..
Remove the dip stick wipe it on some clean white cloth / kitchen roll .. try to determine it's colour .. ideally it should be cherry red ..
Fully push the dipstick all the way down .. then instantly pull it back out and check the level ..
You may have to do it several times .. with the Dexron three 'splashing' around .. some times it is initially difficult to get a spot on reading ..
