howdy,
hello all, nice layer of snow over my newly washed bongo this morning.....
im here to ask again about my electric blind, i gave it a good hard tug ages ago and ive snapped the plastic bar at the bottom away from the window frame, i tried to just get a new rod but someone whom shall remain annoyamous.....can not spell that word!! ....someone whom shall remain secret....he he, tried selling me a whole new blind!!....can i not just order the bar bit and thread it back throught the blind and get it re attached....please help, its nearly camping time again and i dont really want to be taping up a black bag each night,
another question under my pedals i have a button that says hold.....whats that? tried looking in man. and it does not mention it.
i love my wagon, i sold my sports car to drive this all the time and now when i travel in a car it feels like my ass is scraping along the ground!!
oh i got another question, in for a penny in for a pound, how can i make my portapotti look more attractive, i leave it in the bongo all the time, can anyone make me a cloth cover for it!! im not joking.
cheers

Caz - re the blind problem - haven't ever taken mine apart - but if it's just the bottom rod thats snapped, couldn't you slit one end, remove the bits of rod, and replace them with, maybe, some wooden or plastic dowling from B&Q?
They seem to stock quite a selection of sizes. Cut it to the correct length - put it back into the blind, sew up the end again, and it should be pliable enough to curve it sufficiently to get both ends back in the slot it runs in.

HOWDY,
going to have a good look at it at the weekend and see if i can do a blue peter job on it......

Can he explain what the labour charge was for caznsue (not putting on wipers and tipping a bit of oil in the engine surely!). It sounds extortionate and worth talking to someone like the local trading standards officer about if you dont get joy from the garage. Also, can he defend the cost of the wipers blades as being anything like what they cost him.
Sounds v dodgy all round. Good luck with your complaint.

the labour was for a general look over as im driving to cornwall at weekend, i had put a note on the list for him to look at my wobbly steering wheel.....still the bloody wheel problem, also a look at the blind and just check levels etc....the blind he just said i had snapped.......and no mention of the steering wheel.....so i guess it was £60 plus to have a look!!!! unscrew a cap and pour and fit 3 bits of rubber!!!!!!!!!!
a friend took her car to him to fit an electric window switch......and the switch was £18 and to fit £40!!!!.......

Ours, from 321Away, came with a purpose built 'box' with a lift up lid.
It now doubles as a seat, or a coffee table, or a card table, or a foot rest or a ....... well, you get the idea.
I'll post you a pic if want, but can't do it till the morning.
I could make you something like it if you are not too hot with woodwork yourself.

if you can send me some photos of your portapotti box that you got from 321 that would be great or else yes im interested in you knocking me one up, the one i had in my vw had a lift up lid with a foam top that was covered to match the interior and a cut out bit at the bottom to enable the handle to be pulled forward ...could you do this....i would not want it fixed in the back as i have a kitchen unit and still one chair there whicj is mostly pulled up out of the way...something i could lift in and out would be fab,
i live in drayton which hopefully is not too far from you so if you give me an idea of price that would be great,
kind regards

The secret purpose of the button is part of a mystical rite only known to those who have:caznsue wrote:you got one too then,,,..................... wonder what it is......... cruise control???..........wish someone would tell us........
a) Been on the forum for some time
b) Put in the magic word "button" into the search section and scrolled down a page until you find a post called "What is it?" which reveals a link to an earlier post
