aero kit tailgate lights

Post by redz79 » Thu May 28, 2015 7:40 pm

hi all
it will soon be mot time for my bongo, two lights out , brake light and reversing light, its a 2001 v6 with an aero kit, how do I get the aero panel off the tailgate to change the bulbs, I can see four plastic nuts on the inner side of the tailgate, if I remove these does it release the aero panel ?

There are only two working bulbs in the tailgate panel: sidelight on each side. They are in addition to the main ones, so even if they were both out, you won't fail the test :).

hi
the plan is to change the bulbs for led's , the slamming action of the tailgate breaks bulbs on my astra all the time, number plate lights seems to break the most.

Number plate lights can be changed with a cross head screwdriver by undoing two screws on the clear domes over the bulbs. If you want to change the other bulbs in the reflector panel, you will need to remove the panel inside the tailgate to reach the bulb holders.
