fuse box help needed

Post by DianneDFoy » Sun May 10, 2015 9:44 am

Hi everyone, seeking some advice please - the fuse for the stereo and electric mirrors tripped so I thought it would be a straightforward change of fuse to fix,however instead of a fuse in the slot there is a wire running into it instead? I've taken a picture of this (though not sure how to attach to a message!). Anyone experienced this before and know what to do? Many thanks.

You almost certainly have a Leisure battery fitted under the bonnet on the nearside, this normally powers 4 circuits from the existing box, the permanent supply for items like the Lights,Radio backup etc, the Ancillary supply originally switched by the Ignition for Radio, power sockets etc, and the two electric blind circuits see below;

The fuses for these circuits will be at the end of the wires that replace them, normally on a fuse box under the bonnet driven from the LB.
Before you replace the fuses, have you found the cause of them blowing ? Otherwise they will merely blow again!

Thanks for the advice that makes perfect sense now. The fuse blew due to our usb charger extension breaking when we tried to take it out of the 12v socket (my husband managed to get the broken bits out but the fuse tripped in the process :oops: )

Thanks again
