Quicky - is this the correct thermostat?

Post by Tony x » Sat May 09, 2015 1:22 pm

Hello,
I just want to check this is the correct thermostat for the 2.5 diesel.
I ask as I can't remember others I've had having the little hole in it with the small, dangly metal bit poking through.
This can be seen just in from the black rubber half moon shaped bit on the outer edge of the thermostat.

It came in a box marked as part number KL01-15-171A and was advertised as genuine Mazda.
It's marked 82C

The jiggle pin is normally considered to be a critical part! Plenty of discussion if you search for it on here, genuine Mazda image below and you can see the pin at the rear back!!

one of the telling items on the gen mazda stat is the rubber ring that is fitted to the shaft, this cleans the shaft as the stat operates. copies dont have this fitted.

heres a good discussion thread.
