Re: broken aerial
Hi
I think a few members have used something similar to this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alloy-Bee-Sti ... 2572ce89da
Cut the old one flush, screw one of the adapters in , and pop the aerial on.
You might have to find one with a base diameter to match the stub left on yours, and fill the side to match, but it should look O.K. The above is just an example...poke around on e-Bay
Cheers

Re: broken aerial
as the guys and helen has said when the aerial breaks off it will leave a short section of hollow tube, this is ring crimped on to a brass stub by machine, if you carefully remove the remainder of the tube to expose the brass stub you can then drill and tap a hole in this to accommodate one of the adapters shown in helens link then fit a stubby aerial.
best to do this while still on the van cos if you remove the pivot you may lose the spring and little ball bearing that clicks when raised and lowered.

Ta, Ady...
Now it's clear what you have to drill and tap!...Are those aerials any better than the original?...I seem to recall advice for and against???

...Truth to tell, I couldn't get my brain together to search...too much pain today...but at least it's lovely and warm, so I'll soak up some sunshine!
