Rear light.
My Bongo rear light has a crack and chip in which has been there since I bought it. Two days ago by chance I managed to get hold of a replacement unit in perfect condition. Very pleased until got home and realised the indicator lens was a different colour. Mine is clear with an orange bulb while the new one is orange lens. How easy is it to dismantle the unit as my clear lens is not broken so would like to put that in the new one?
I can, I do, I did.

Re: Rear light.
Not at all easy to replace individual lenses (some would say impossible don't try it)
an alternative on cracks is
CAPT TOLLEY CREEPING CRACK CURE
ive sucessfully used it on mine
dry out before use hair dryier will do.
build up a couple of thin layers.
it will nor replace missing chunks

Re: Rear light.
But I've got a new light that cost me a few (not too much) quid. Looks like I'm going to have to go back to the chap and get the one for the other side to match it up. Damn, thought I had a bargain there!!!
I can, I do, I did.
Re: Rear light.
Could you fix the cracked one and Flea Bay the new spare?
Anything with 'Bongo' on it seems to fetch good money.

If you're going the whole hog then you need the clear reflector panel too. The different colour lens in the cluster are bonded together so I'd doubt you'd get them apart cleanly enough to do a transplant.

Had to bite the bullet and go back to get the other side to match it up. You're right Simon I had a go at getting it apart but to no avail. Seems daft to have to change the whole light when you could replace just the broken bit. Not very economical or environment friendly

Hi
There are kits using coloured resin to repair plastic lights. I bought one on e-Bay, and it's been successful. It does require a bit of fiddling, but it's that good, i've not bothered to get a new unit. The crack was 5 inches or more
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Re: Rear light.
Well, got the other light to match the first one I bought. It's never very simple are these Bongos!
Now realised the bottom of the right hand lens is clear but needs to be red as it is the fog light. I have a red bulb in it but feel the lens should be red. Has anyone coloured theirs and if so what with and how?

Re: Rear light.
It's just the reversing light with a coloured bulb as they were never built with fog lights.
