I think I have answered my own question.... it has rubber pipes attached that come from the container labelled auto transmission fluid so must be related to auto gearbox. Thanks anyway.

I've not got a container labeled ATF
There's one for the power steering might be to do with that carnt see much from your pic
To close to get bearings

Metal pipe to the power steering rack ... 'rubber' pipe to the Dexron ATF fluid power steering reservoir ..

Yellow cap .. bottom right ..
