Side Door - Micro Switch

Post by Guru » Fri Mar 27, 2015 12:26 pm

Hello everyone,

Long time, no post.

Decided to keep the Bongo after the Tour de France break in but have been left with a side door issue post-insurance claim fix.

In short, the garage handed me back the vehicle and the side door stopped working. I returned it and they fixed it. This has happened again twice and my patience is wearing thin.... My dad wants me to send it back there but I figured I would try and fix it myself.....

I have looked at all of the fact sheets and some of the recent and old posts on the forum. I think we can all agree that there is a lot of messy black stuff!!!

Basically, I want to know what the micro switch looks like so I know what object to poke. At the moment I am literally stabbing in the dark! As soon as I know it isn't that I will move on to some of the other suggestions. What I do know is that I have a small white plastic clip that has come off somewhere. I found it at the bottom of the plastic casing.....

Thanks in advance,

Andy

This might help, but you need to study it! Its the circular bit in the middle that needs attention, possibly clean off and re-grease & oil the mechanical parts involved.

Beautiful! All fixed.

Thanks Geoff.

Looks like the mechanism was getting stuck. I'll clean and re-grease.

Have a great weekend!
