Hold Light

Post by Alex S » Wed Mar 25, 2015 11:46 pm

Hi
95 Bongo 4x4 2.5
I've just done the diesel pump seals and decided to change the timing belt at the same time. Everything is working fine, but I have a flashing Hold light. Looking at the sequences in the Fact Sheet the only thing it could be is Code 1 (Engine speed unit). However, it is a 1 second flash followed by less than 1 second, and then the 1 second flash again. I did think it might be just flashing and not in a sequence BUT... In 'Park' with the engine running, the Hold light operates correctly. Once in 'Drive' and the throttle is pressed, the flashing begins.

Grateful for any ideas, or the answer
Cheers
Alex

Welcome to the forum :). Initial thought is does the rev counter work ok? The sensor is close to the injector pump so has perhaps been disturbed.

Simon
I see what you mean about it being close. I'll give it a try tomorrow. I have been adjusting the idle, and the rev reading looks fine. I personally feel that I have knocked something, but you never know :(
