Someone asked how long it takes for the oil symbol to extinguish, I did this about 2 weeks ago and it took about 2.5 seconds from turn of key. Is that ok ?

I wonder the same.. my oil light stays on for a couple of seconds after start...
seems if i rev the engine it goes off quicker

That would make sense as the oil pump pumps faster. I would possibly suggest not revving when cold unnecessarily though, before the engine warm up. I just mentioned it because someone asked about how long the light takes to switch off on this thread I think.

My V6 .. the oil light goes off as soon as the engine spins over on the starter motor ..
JAL Mushroom roof,12/240v, fridge, cooker, sink, LPG V6 .. (written off @ £5500 Nov 2016)

Just to add it was a true cold start had not been moved for about 5 days. And temp gauge read 5C upon turnover.
