Airbag warning light

Post by Deafhead » Fri Mar 20, 2015 8:04 pm

my airbag warning light has just started flashing, stopping, and flashing again. It is flashing 6 times, stops and starts flashing again. Pretty much as it pleases, can you believe it the night before my mot. Is it likely that I have disturbed wiring whilst changing dashboard bulbs

It normally indicates that the connection between computer and air bag has failed - normally the clock-spring which brings the wiring up the steering column has broken. Spares are available from the breakers probably George at bongo Spares has one available.

Thanks for that. Had my steering column apart this morning and checked connections, seem fine. Added cable restraints where possible and seems to have cured problem but will see later when taking for spin.
