Managed to get some info, the owner was very helpful.
The work was carried out by ADS Automotive in Bristol (bongo specialist apparently), also bought from them, i cant reach them today as they are closed. The present owner was told the diff could be put back in if he wanted.
Any feedback on the company?

Thanks guys, they are not in on Saturday but i can at least touch base with someone about it Monday and good to know they are well regarded as it least means for whatever reason it was converted it probably wasnt bodged.
