Help Please Overheating!!!

Hi all first post great site!!

last week bongo overheated when was driving, heard banging noise from under bonnet
stopped lifted the hood and steam coming out of small vent/hole in top of header tank,
sniff test done seemed fine, pressure test done seems fine, refilled system bleeded
heaters warm temp on half, then when it get to a certain temp blows steam out of the header again,

any ideas please....

Maybe the pressure cap is failing.when it starts to pressure up it blows!

where in the country are you.

possible causes maybe faulty exp tank cap, letting the pressure drop before the stated 1.1 bar so lowering the boiling point of the coolant.

hole in pipe or system somewhere that is undetected when cold, maybe water pump leaking as the pressure rises. or front or rear heater matrix leaking.

partially blocked radiator.

faulty thermostat.

Worth having it recovered to a Bongo Friendly garage to be sorted.

I would recommend not driving it until sorted as overheating problems can cause the head to fail.

Good luck.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.
