Reversing switch
Hi another question from newbies!! reversing lights are not working on our bongo all fuses checked and bulbs. Is the reversing light switch located underneath a bongo specific part or would any 1997 mazda switch work? One more thing corner sensors don't work either do they share the same switch/connection
Thanks Robin and Maria

Re: Reversing switch
The reversing light is driven from the gear selector switch, along with several other feeds including the corner sensor for the two rear sensors, does the Dashboard gear selection light come on for the all the positions including Reverse ?

Re: Reversing switch
no lights appear on the dashboard, it's a manual if that makes a difference.
Re: Reversing switch
Hi spookmaria ,the reversing light switch is located on the N/S top screwed into the gear box casing, it will probably be a run of the mill switch obtainable from most motor factors, or ebay etc ,the Mazda part number is 091317640 its a 24mm x 14x2.0 N/O switch like this .

Good Luck.

Re: Reversing switch
Try replacing this fuse;

It drives all those lights - assuming you have a version with the selected gear showing on the dashboard between the Temp. & Fuel gauges.

Re: Reversing switch
It's a manual 'box & pre-dates the revised gear selection display

Re: Reversing switch
Thank you all for your help. I had assumed the reversing switch was there teenmal took off the terminals and gave them a good clean but still no joy so i hope replacing the switch solves this.
Re: Reversing switch
From the wiring diagram it looks like if you link the two wires on the switch together the reversing lights should come on - so try that. If they work OK when the wires are linked then it's probably the switch. If they don't work when linked then the problem is elsewhere (fuse, bulbs etc) - which may save you some time and money if it's not the switch.
