DAB Aerial

I'm sure this must have been asked befor but I can't find any discussion; Does anyone know if there is a direct replacement DAB / Digital aerial that can swap out the existing aerial so that I can replace my current head unit with a DAB one?

If you mean to fit in place of the existing aerial, there is no direct replacement as the plug is different, DAB aerials are usually powered & typically glass-mounted. I've just bought one of these which works well: http://www.halfords.com/sat-nav-audio/c ... mb-dab-aa1

Even when you have a DAB receiver, you still want the option for FM which usually requires a separate aerial. So I'd keep your existing aerial and add a second one.

I got a small inoffensive magnetic DAB aerial for mine, which is attached just above the passenger side of the front windscreen. Wire goes up the pillar and out over the top of the passenger door. Works perfectly fine - only fell off once when I hit some low-hanging foliage!

I have read that the window-mounted aerials, even when powered, never give as good reception as an external one.

I've got one of those little mag mount DAB aerials( can just be seen below )
In the same place
Cable through passenger door( no probs)
Good signal and when it's not radio just goes back to fm then back to dab
Gotta have DAB for BBC6

What I can't understand is that my DAB radio in the house uses the same aerial for FM and digital despite the DAB working at a much higher frequency.
How does this work? Theoretically it shouldn't with DAB at 175 to 250mhz and FM from 87 to 108mhz but it does. Can't imagine there is an aerial matching unit in the radio.
