Glow plug light flashing
Hi everyone having a bit of trouble with my ford freda glow plug light flashing happens when engine is warm and when left to cool for 10 to 15 min it's ok again for a bit then start to flash, found fault code p0400 EGR flow and p1228 wastegate failing under pressure. I've had a look at the fact sheet about the wastegate and I've changed the engine temp senor, vacuum solenoid vaule under the drivers seat with a green conector , the waste gate moves as it should and is not stuck , any ideas anyone ?

Re: Glow plug light flashing
What symptoms do you have (poor performance, etc) & what year is the Bongo?

Hi Simon
It's a late 1999 new shape with the drive by wire system, it as if it's gone in to a limp home mode happens when the engine is warm staying at a steady speed (light thorttle ) then the glow plug light will flash and a lack of power no turbo , hope this will help

The following search results for 'wastegate' mention a few error codes relating to it being stuck open: http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... mit=Search
Problems with the drive by ones are rare but when they occur, they can be much harder to fix. A know of one owner who spent a fortune trying to fix an issue and then sold it to a Bongo expert and I think even he may have admitted defeat by now.
