LPG Oil Change

Post by psquiddy » Sat Nov 01, 2014 7:18 pm

The oil in my LPG 2.0 seems much cleaner than it usually would in a petrol engine - can I leave it longer between changes and if so how long?

Depends on what your usual oil change intervals are.?

What oil are you using,?

I dont know the answer as it was last changed before I bought it - but I have done 10k in the last year so it is probably due a change - but it looks pretty clear compared to the usual black.

What mileage does the vehicle do in a year?

Not many in the Bongo as my son is now housebound ..

But in my LPG Estima .. I used to do around ten thousand a year ..

The oil on the dipstick always has a 'fresh' look to it ..

Service schedule indicates 15,000km or 12 months (which ever is sooner): http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/member ... petrol.pdf

LPG does burn cleaner so the oil stays in better condition but for the sake of say £20 for the oil, I personally wouldn't exceed Mazda's recommendation.
