Leisure battery fitter - Edinburgh Area

Post by mercurykev » Sun Oct 26, 2014 11:04 pm

anyone in bongo fury land know of anyone decent near Edinburgh who could do some leisure battery system modifications and additions?

I recently bought a Bongo which had a full side conversion with a leisure battery system but it's pretty limited, has a single 12v cigarette lighter powers socket which the fridge plugs into and doesn't have any lighting. I've got this panel but it doesn't switch off the leisure battery and only provides an indication of charge levels

Ideally I'd have a panel to switch on and off things such as the water pump, fridge, lights and it would be pretty neat if I could also power the blinds via the leisure battery. I'm therefore looking for someone who can fit some LED lighting and install some form of control panel.

Anyone recommended and am I looking at an expensive piece of work?

http://www.campers-scotland.com/ might be worth a try though when I went to see them recently, in search of a Bongo, they seemed quite busy. I don't know how much work they do which isn't full conversions. Worth a phone call I guess?

I've just bought a Bongo myself which isn't converted at all and I'm considering some some of the work myself. A kit from http://www.rayneautomotive.co.uk/ which allows for split charge and wires into the fuse box, is currently top of my list. They do a 100amp relay kit which looks quite good. Maybe you could replace the old kit with this and wire yourself? You'd need to work out how to get that switch in and I guess that's why you're after a specialist?

Zig still do the Marque 1 panel I believe from there website which has meter and switches, which is what I have in mine along with a X70 PSU these work really well for the Bongo without the complexity of the later models which is not needed for a campervan!

Dave, I think my Bongo originally came from Campers Scotland so I they would at least know the current set up - I'll have to give them a call.

g8dhe, that's the type of thing I'm looking for. Thanks.
