Which battery is which?

Post by lizdigs » Sat Oct 25, 2014 6:18 pm

Hello all,
I'm a newbie and yet to take my Bongo for its first outing.... popped out to the garage earlier and discovered the battery has gone flat. I have a charger but how do I know which is the starter battery and which is the leisure one? Please forgive my ignorance!!
Thanks
Liz

Normally the Off Side (drivers side),if you connect the charger to that one it should be ok, but you Need to find out Why its Flat.

Ah thank you - I was leaning towards the other one for some reason!
I have a feeling I left something on that shouldn't have been in the back but I'm not sure what!

If you have a leisure battery with split charge
And you left something on in the back it should not flatten your starter battery

Fridge or radio good starting places

Not unless it's left hand drive :)

Bear in mind if it's the twin starter battery setup, then you could have two flat batteries, but if you connect the charger to the one on the drivers side you can't go far wrong.

Ahhh ... the information arrows must have worn off yours ... this is mine with them still in place ..

Tip ... make sure the gutter drain is not gobbed up or water will spill over the electrics ...

If you have a conversion with some sort of power control unit (like a Zig for example) you need to be careful with the switches as it's possible to have both the leisure and starter batteries used at the same time.
