Rear window heater

Post by al & chris » Tue Oct 14, 2014 5:29 pm

Think our rear window heater has stopped working. Light on on dash but not de misting properly.
Checked voltage on wire at rear window and looks like it's about 0.2v, anyone know what it should be there.

It should be normal battery voltage. Check fuse 20 (30A) and if that's ok you may have a break in the cabling where it passes into the tailgate by the hinges.

Fuse ok and can't see a break in cable. Looks like I might have to take rear door cover of to look inside.
Bet it has that black stuff everywhere.

You won't seem a break, its just the wire within the insulation that breaks. Try running a finger nail along the wire you can often feel the break that way.
