Alternator DIY refurb

Post by adscatt » Sun Oct 12, 2014 6:02 pm

Has anyone successfully obtained parts to repair theirs?

Battery light and sediment light came on this weekend, not charging at idle 11.5 volts, and overcharging at 3000rpm, approx 16v, I'm guessing this is why my coolant alarm is chirping when driven as coolant ok.

Anyway back on topic, has anyone got any contacts as to where they've obtained internals for their alternator, emailled a couple of ebay sellers this weekend so waiting to hear back. I've stripped mine down to see if the voltage regulator has any numbers on but doesn't, bearings, brushes and contacts all ok so trying to keep the costs down (this latest repair is eating into my mountain bike fork fund :( )
