Squeaking noise from cam belt?

Post by Duckeria » Sat Oct 11, 2014 1:30 pm

Bought a 2006 Bongo last week from a dealer and as part of the deal had a new cam belt fitted. Today heard a high pitched squeaking noise from the cam belt area when idling and when foot off the accelerator, noise disappears when accelerating. Any suggestions please.

Myself I would phone garage and get it picked up on a low loader for them to find out whats happening. If they want to drive it, suggest they pay for damages if it smashes your valves and pistons up.
They call me light foot.

Might just be a fan belt but as it's from a dealer, it should be covered under warranty so as suggested, ask them to get it recovered to a suitable garage. Last Bongos came off the production line in 2005 when the paint shop burned down so yours must be one of the very last ones to be registered in Japan. Very nice :)
