Power steering fluid

Post by TheStinkyHippy » Wed Sep 24, 2014 6:14 pm

Saw a discussion on a facebook group about power steering fluid.

My fluid level is getting close to the low mark, so was thinking of buying some fluid to top it up.

The discussion talks about:
http://www.bongoforum.co.uk/cgi-bin/for ... 1638776%2F

which recommends Lucas power steering stop leak
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lucas-Power-Ste ... B000ARPVNO

My steering isn't too noisy.. actually the bongo engine noise seems less when i steer..
Should I top up with this.. its only £9.60
or should I just buy some normal power steering fluid..
something like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wynns-189890-Po ... B0050O57DG
which is £7.44

I kinda guess the 355ml of stop leak wont be enough to top up the bottle from low to max?

Maybe to answer my own question, as I have just ordered some http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261533817827
Millers ATF auto transmission fluid, some forums indicate I can put that in the power steering bottle? Is that correct?
