Motorised wing mirror problem

Post by bongojoe » Wed Aug 13, 2014 10:10 pm

One of our neighbours, thinking they were doing us a favour, 'flipped' the driver's side wing mirror in by hand.

The missus 'flipped' it back manually and now the motorised retraction doesn't move that mirror.

I haven't had a good look myself yet, but is it likely a goner or are the designed to cope with being manually retracted?

They are designed to be manipulated as well, just run the mirror out as normal and you should hear a clicking at the end, then retract and it should be OK, unless the ratchet bit has broken.... :-(
