Flashing Roof Light
Put the roof up tonight for the first time in a while, now when I close it the roof-open warning light on the dashboard goes off, but starts flashing again about 5 seconds later. I have tried raising and lowering the roof a few times, have lubricated the runners etc. Also checked inside roof tent to make sure nothing is obscuring it. Doing my head in, anyone got any ideas please? I tried wedging a bit of card behind the micro switch at front on passenger side, same thing happened I.e light stopped flashing for a few seconds then started again.

Have you tried jiggling the switch on the light?

If we're talking about the same thing (the lamp in the AFT by the interlock switch) then there is a little lever on it that allows the light to be manually controlled.

Re: Flashing Roof Light
Sorry I am not being clear, I meant the warning light on the dashboard to say the roof is not closed properly.

Re: Flashing Roof Light
Ah right that 'roof light'
. As far as I know there is one microswitch towards the rear of each of the roof runners.

Re: Flashing Roof Light
There are TWO micro switches in the down position (fully forwards), to make sure each side is fully down, so if you only tried wedging one side that was the good side! Check the other side! However be aware that it is a safety system to warn you that when the arms are in the fully locked down position, it could be that one arm has something blocking it, or as you suspect a microswitch is out of adjustment.

Re: Flashing Roof Light
Can they switches be adjusted or is it likely that it needs replacing?
Re: Flashing Roof Light
They are first quite difficult to reach, they have only a single fixing screw, you may find that you can tweak the spring and button that operate them as the slider goes past, something like this;

Re: Flashing Roof Light
This photo shows a microswitch behind the arm, and as I recall it didn't seem to have any adjustment on its mounting. It would be worth giving them all a squirt of switch cleaner in case the contacts are a bit dirty.

Re: Flashing Roof Light
Thanks for your help as ever guys. I gave them a squib of wd40 incase some rain got in there during the apocalyptic storms earlier. Will get some switch cleaner tomorrow and see if that helps. Maplins should do that shouldn't they?
