Help with Elevating roof

Hi all,

I'm currently taking part bits and pieces off my old Bongo I cannot use the electric button to raise the roof and I would if possible like to remove the tent lining, is there a manual way of getting the lid up or off?

Think you have to undo and drop both motors
There located under roof at the sides to the rear
9mm Alan key to undo motor mounts
How you get your roof up first I don't know
Might be brute force

If you can get to the control module located on the offside rear post (if you have a side conversion it can be difficult) then the 4 pin plug has both +12 volts and earth as well as the motor wires on it so you can jumper them across to manually control the motors, and assuming you have +12 volts source from a battery then
The plug is M2-01 on the diagram below, look at the lower section and each plug is indivdually shown;


1A is Earth & 1C is +12 volts
1D & 1B Blue and Red are the motor wires

If you connect 1A to 1D and 1C to 1B
OR
if you connect 1A to 1B and 1C to 1D

Then the motors will operate up and down for you

If you can't persuade the motors to work as per g8dhe's method. You can raise it manually. First remove all the headlining, yes including the cab area, to do this you will need to remove all the upper trim pannels, so grab handles and seatbelt punts off first.
Once you have access to the bear roof you need to undo all the 10mm nuts, long row along both sides, there are some tricky ones above the sliding door and the cab area. Leave the 12mm (might be 13 or 14 but the larger ones anyway) these are the gas struts (about 1/3 of the way from the rear) and the hinges (right at the rear).
When these are all undone you can just push the roof up, if it won't go you've missed one.
Once it's up, prop it open then you can get at the motors under their black plastic covers.

Mistakes I made, I undid all the nuts, the gass strut ones didn't lift out but the hinges did, the roof tried to go forward not up and the tent got streched - only managed to get it all back in place by putting the roofbars on and then winching backwards agains a beam in my mates barn.

Had some difficulty with a couple of screws on the top row (just didn't want to come lose), so had to tug the screw and lug out of the roof...
