alternator problem?

Hi all, Alternator has been rattling/ticking for a few weeks
now under load ie roof rising/ lowering/aircon,now has
started to emit smoke smelling electrical, I think the
1000 miles round highlands has not helped.

Exchange unit from the Bongomeister is likely best. :wink:
