Rear Heater Not Working!

Post by djm80140 » Sat Aug 02, 2014 7:20 pm

Hello all - new Bongo owner here needing some advice if you're able to help!
I have a 1996 AFT with side conversion where the heater slider controls have been mounted on the bottom of the side conversion however the rear heater isn't blowing out either hot or cold. I've checked the fuses and they are OK but can't work out how to access the rear of the control panel on the conversion without lifting it out! Also it has a Monitor fitted in the rear and extra 12V sockets and noe of these work either so i suspect it's something electrical.

Does anyone have a clue as I don't - I think the Bongo is great and am off to France in it next week with 8 year old grandson so cooling / heating in the rear and a working monitor would be a boon to say the least! :?:

You do know the front blower has to be on for the rear one to work?

And you can press the 'rear' switch on the dash to override the rear panel and adjust the fan speed (on the digital climate control version)

No telling what people do
They moved the heater controls so the original cables won't reach
Worth a check

Thanks all - Have checked dash switch for rear blower is on, leisure battery is full to the top. The factory fit rear 12V socket works fine - the aftermarket fit ones don't which is weird - I'm guessing there must be a fuse somewhere that runs the TV, rear heater and 12V aftermarket sockets. Have tried to trace the wiring but to no avail - I think an auto electrician may be the answer!
