cold start
what happens if you leave the cold start switched on please?
Re: cold start
Sometimes the same as if you turn it off. By this I mean that (so I've read) the mechanism can seize up and will not turn off.
If left on, I've been led to understand you get about 12 mpg and poor power
I gather you're talking about the switch that comes on the winter pack model.
We disconnected ours at the back - a 2 minute job and something that can save a whole load of grief. It's not really necessary unless you're a penguin spotter.

Re: cold start
heres a drawing of the pipework and the valve. just blank a pipe with a suitable bolt so the vac doesnt operate the valve. dont just pull a pipe off though and leave it open as you need the vacuum to operate the cold start solenoids and the egr valve if still working.

or just pull the wires off the back of the switch on the dash.
