The Stimson isn't ally its galvanised sheet metal and as you say you could easily make one assuming you have the skills / machine
It is down to personal choice Bio fuel is much safer than petrol , especially in confined spaces and the Origo boils a kettle fast enough for me as I am in no great rush. It is also maintenance free with nothing to go wrong The fuel is now more widely available than meths was
