I will see how I get on. Sat nav is in and out on my other car.. never a blown fuse ever. Not wishing to go against good advice but this argument does not seem to have any logic to it considering a satnav and temp are very low power devices compared to heating a red hot element up.

. It's not the load that causes the problem, it's the plug being inserted or removed at a slight angle that causes the spring loaded contacts on the side to short out both parts of the socket. A cigarette lighter element is a much better fit than a flimsy plastic plug so is less prone to shorting out.
